Holiday Tree Collection

AVI offers several different options to recycle your holiday tree. Please check back closer to the holidays for holiday tree collection dates and information on the Boy Scout Tree Recycling Fundraiser.

Boy Scouts of America – Tree Recycling Fundraiser

‍For a minimum $10.00 donation per tree, local Boy Scouts Troop 905 will pick up holiday trees from Dublin residents on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Reservations are required.

Please consider the following:

• Reservations will be taken through 3 pm on January 2, 2026.
• Only clean trees will be accepted.
• No flocking or tinsel allowed.
• Please remove the tree base or stand.

AVI Holiday Tree Recycling Options (January 5 – January 30, 2026)

Option 1: Curbside Collection

‍Place your holiday tree at the curb by 5:30 A.M. on your regular service day between January 5 and January 30, 2026.

• A separate truck will collect trees specifically for recycling.
• Trees must be clean (no flocking or tinsel).
• Cut trees down to 4 feet or less in height.
• Remove all tree bases or stands before placing them curbside.

Option 2: Organics Cart Collection

‍You may also place your holiday tree in your green Organics Cart anytime after the holidays.

• Trees must be clean (no flocking or tinsel).
• Cut branches and stumps to fit entirely within the cart, allowing the lid to close securely.
• Place the cart at the curb on your regular service day for collection.

Option 3: Non-Recyclable Flocked Trees or Trees with Tinsel

‍Amador Valley Industries can pick up your nonrecyclable holiday tree.

• Please call 925-479-9545 to arrange for the disposal of your flocked or tinseled tree.

• An additional fee may apply unless you use one of the three (3) Large Item Collections available to you per year at no cost.
