In 2005, AVI created a partnership with The Go Green Initiative, creating a grant program to help Dublin’s public schools fund projects (e.g. recycling, water conservation, school gardens, etc.) that improve students’ lives and help teach them to be responsible stewards of our environment. Campuses measure their progress towards their environmental goals and then briefly summarize their accomplishments on GGI’s project tracking website. The results are then reviewed by the City of Dublin GGI program administrator. Qualifying Dublin schools can receive hundreds of dollars per quarter for environmentally-related projects.
Many Dublin public schools are currently participating in the program and reaping the rewards. For more information about Dublin’s GGI Program or to submit your quarterly report, please visit www.gogreeninitiative.org. You can also contact the City of Dublin at 925-833-6650 if you have questions about the program.
