residential household is provided with a 64-gallon cart and a food
scrap pail. Organic service is provided on a weekly basis. The Organics
Recycling Program accepts all types of green waste including grass
and weed clippings, shrub and tree prunings, leaves, plants, flowers.
The food scrap pail is provided as a convenience and is not necessary
to participate in the program. Residents may simply place their food
scrap in a brown paper bag, wrap it in newspaper, or place it in a
waxed carton such as a milk or ice cream carton and place full containers
right into your organics cart. Materials accepted in the new food
scrap program include fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, seafood,
bones, bread, rice, beans, pasta, cheese, coffee grounds, filters,
tea bags, food soiled paper products such as napkins, paper towels,
paper cups and paper plates.
